A 36 year old Pakistani national, Rafik Khan, a resident of Kiwatule-Nakawa was on Thursday kidnapped by a group of thugs, robbed of his belongings and abandoned.
In a statement made at police, the victim was stopped by a group of people among whom, 2 were wielding SMGs donning in military attire while others were casually dressed.
He was forced out of his car Probox car and the group pulled him from the driver’s seat bundled into the boot which the assailants later drove off via the northern by-pass.
Khan told police that he was robbed of USD 300, UgX 700,000 and 2 Samsung smart phones.
The unidentified assailants later abandoned the victim at Kasangalabi along Kayunga – Mukono Road.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson says the CCTV footages reviewed on Friday morning established that the assailants were allegedly dropped off by a Toyota fielder and stood in wait for their target to pass by.
“We are following up with our CCTV cameras to establish the car’s movement and to whom it belongs,” stated the police.
Further investigations into the matter are still going on.
