The executive director of Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) Daniel Odong reported this at the release of the 2022 PLE results at the State Lodge in Nakasero, Kampala on Friday

Odongo said that a total of 714,702 out of 811,810 who sat for the have passed the examinations and can proceed to post primary education.

On the other hand, Odongo advised pupils who were not graded (97,109) to repeat primary seven because they cannot be admitted in Senior One and sit for Senior Four Exams since they will have not been graded.

Speaking at the release of the results, Janet Kataha Museveni, the minister of education urged candidates who did not perform well not to lose hope but, instead to repeat for better grades.

The minister expressed gratitudes on the increased performances in Universal Primary Education (UPE) schools by 1.7 percent and the stride increase on the registration of learners with special needs sitting for national exams

“I am also pleased to note an increase in the registration of candidates with Special Needs from 1,599 in 2020 to 2,436 in 2022, which is an increase of 52.3%; representing the largest rate of increase of children in this category, witnessed in the PLE registration,” Janet Kataha said

According to the minister, the selection for students joining senior One will be conducted between 2nd and 3rd February 2023, at Uganda Manufucturer’s Multipurpose hall (UMA) Lugogo Kampala while the official reporting date for the Senior One students is scheduled for February 20.
