Fred Nyanzi alias Chairman Nyanzi, a biological brother to Ugandan opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has on Holy Thursday survived being executed by Ugandan blood-thirsty security officials in Kyenjojo district, western part of the country.
This was during the induction and launch of the mobilization Teams of the National Unity Platform also known as ‘Kunga’ in Tooro sub-region held in Kyenjojo district.
Nyanzi who’s also the national mobilizer of the NUP was shot together with another local coordinator Ibrahim Musinguzi as police sprayed teargas to disperse the gathering.
They were later evacuated to a Kyenjojo hospital for treatment but reports indicate that Chairman Nyanzi is in critical conditions.
Reports indicate that several other party supporters were severely injured, arrested and are currently being detained at Kyenjojo police station. One police officer was also stoned at during the scuffle.
Bobi Wine condemned the brutality of security agencies against his supporters.
“We condemn this criminality in the strongest terms. I can assure Museveni and his criminal gangs that they will have to pay for each of these crimes against humanity!” Kyagulanyi said
