This has sparked off hot debates amongst citizens of Rubabo saying he just came to show off after locals had already mobilized resources so that he can gain more popularity as we near the next elections.

Our reporter has learned of the on going arguments on different social media fora blaming their representatives for not helping them and choosing to enjoy life in Kampala.

A one Patrick other name with held told this paper that after electing them they choose to tint their car windows so that they don’t notice them when they are in their constituencies yet during campaigns they use open roof vehicles.

This was after someone compared what Mr. Bob Rugonde has done towards the development of Rubabo constituency to what the area member of Parliament Hon. Namanya Naboth has done.

He said Mr. Rugonde has contributed much towards communal work (Blungi bwa nsi) compared to the area member of Parliament and other elected leaders yet he is a common citizen like the rest.

Bob Rugonde is known for his contribution in Nyakishenyi sub-county where he lobbied a coffee factory that started running last month. This has helped in value addition. He has also contributed towards the expansion and clearing of feeder roads and cable bridges by buying cravats and facilitating technical people, distribution of coffee seedlings to coffee farmers in the district among others.

Due to mixed reactions, some people have labored to explain to others the role of the member of Parliament but their explanations fall on to the deaf ears some regretting wasting their votes to people who only appear to show off.
