Nebbi catholic diocese will animate the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations, 2024 at Namugongo, for the second time, 16 years it led in 2007.
The Bishop of Nebbi, Rt. Rev. Raphael Wokorach P’mony says the diocese needs over 1.3 billion shillings to prepare for these celebrations.
He said 3rd June is not just an event but a journey of faith which needs early preparations.
On July 30, the Bishop led a prayer session in which he installed and blessed members of the Central Committee (COC) to lead in resource mobilization and preparations of the event.
The select committee is chaired by the Northern Uganda older persons member of parliament, Mama Catherine Akumu Mavenjina together with other members of the Uganda National Catholic Council of Laity Apostolate.
Speaking at the mass to install the committee, Rt Rev. Wokorach asked christians to generously support the diocese so that they may raise the required budget for better preparations.
