The National Drug Authority of Uganda has cautioned the public against consumption of L-Power Coffee over alleged nutritional supplements likely to cause negative side effects to humans.
In a statement issued on August 22, the authority said L -Power coffee contains traces of a prescription erectile dysfunction drug.

NDA maintained that the coffee is adulterated with Taladafil prescription drug likely to cause side effects like extreme respiratory and cardiac problems. The authority warned that the prescription drug in L- power coffee should be used under strict instructions of a medical professional
Pharmacies, drug shops, supermarkets, online shops, health and nutritional supplements dealers have also been cautioned against stocking, sale, distribution and dealing in L-Power Coffee with immediate effect.
Abiaz Rwamwiri, NDA Public Relations Officer said traders found in possession of the drug will be tried in the courts of law.
“NDA and other enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate this matter to ensure that those who are responsible are held to account,” he said.
