KAMPALA
Police have launched a manhunt for a suspected boyfriend of killed Buganda Royal Institute student who was found dead in her rented room in Nansana.
Nakaddu Rashida was stabbed to death by her alleged unidentified boyfriend who had paid a visit at the victim’s place in Nabweru Kibwa , Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District over the weekend.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the deceased colleague and residents alerted police after they found her door blocked.
Police immediately responded to the scene and together with the residents they broke the door and found the victim lying dead on a blood stained carpet.
“We found the deceased in a pool of blood while in room and they are trying to establish the identities of the suspect who is on the run,” Owoyesigyire said
He said the body was examined and it had several stab wounds and signs of strangulation.
Residents disclosed to police that the victim’s boyfriend who is a key suspect in the murder would frequently visit this place.
Police conveyed the body to city mortuary Mulago for postmortem and efforts to arrest the suspect are still ongoing.
