The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) faction on Plot 6, Katonga road has released a roadmap for the election of its leaders from grassroot to national levels.
The roadmap released by the group’s interim Chief Electoral Commissioner, Hon. Micheal Kabaziguruka is a deviation from the recently concluded grassroot structure elections that were organized by Hon. Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda, the FDC party Electoral Commission Chairperson.
Addressing the media at Katonga road on Monday, Kabaziguruka informed scribes that the party will hold elections in 71,230 villages, 10,595 parishes, 211 sub-counties, 353 constituencies and 150 districts.
According to the roadmap, election for village, parish, subcounty and district leaders shall be conducted from 9 December to 28 January, 2023. On December 6, National Executive Committee (NEC) shall nominate 10 eminent persons and 10 diaspora representatives.
The interim Chief Electoral Commissioner said the party shall hold a national council meeting on December 12 thereafter national chairman, Amb. Wasswa Birigwa will issue a notice for National Delegates Conference on December 15.
FDC Katonga fact is expected to hold a national delegates conference on 15th March,2024 to elect NEC leaders who will takeover leadership in party general duties.
It should be noted that the Katonga fact rejected elections by FDC electoral commission chairperson, Hon. Toterebuka Bamwenda calling it Sham and fraudulent.
The group also dismissed parallel National Delegates Conference called by Toterebuka due October 6, at Patidar Samaj Sports Grounds Lugogo Kampala.
Erias Lukwago, the FDC interim president asked law abiding members to boycott the October 6 National Delegates Conference called by Toterebuka which he called a “seminar”.
“Don’t waste your time going for the purported Delegates Conference scheduled for 6th October 2023. These people are on a frolic of their own,” he said
