A police officer in Ntinda was tragically electrocuted as he attempted to rescue his two children who had been shocked by an electric malfunction.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire says the incident occurred in Ntinda Police barracks on Monday October 16.
He identified the deceased as AIP (Rtd) Olanya Christopher who was preparing to go to Gulu district in Northern Uganda.
According to Owoyesigyire, the deceased was barefoot when the incident happened making him vulnerable to electric shock.
The two children, a daughter and son survived and Olanya’s body was taken to city mortuary Mulago for a postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.
