“Our candidate is a born of Kole district where her late mother was buried. So, that local propaganda actually worked against our candidate,” he said.

FDC however conceded defeat in the election and congratulated the UPC candidate Sarah Aguti Nyangkori on winning the election noting that they are going to apply the experience obtained from the Dokolo by-election to prepare for future elections.

Hon. Sarah Aguti Nyangkori winner of the Dokolo district Woman member of parliament by-election together with party president Hon. James Jimmy Akena.

“We congratulate the UPC candidate Hon. Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, for winning this fiercely contested election. We may have not won primarily due to malicious propaganda against her (Dr. Alwoc) and various other factors, which we will thoroughly analyze for future elections,” said Mulindwa.

They however decried broad daylight electoral irregularities such as voter bribery, ballot stuffing among others particularly by the NRM and demanded for sanity in all national elections.
