Former Koboko district Woman Member of Parliament, Margaret Baba Diri has died, Parliament reported.
Baba Diri who is one of the longest serving parliamentarians (from 1996-2021) breathed his last on Thursday afternoon, at a health facility in Kawempe Divison, Kampala.
She lost her seat to Dr. Sharifa Aete in the 2021 election. She will be remembered for her advocacy role for persons living with disabilities (PWDs) rights while still in parliament.
The news of Baba Diri’s death coincide with the death reports of Kawempe North MP, Muhhamad Ssegirinya who also died this afternoon at 12:10pm (Thursday 9th January, 2025) at Rubaga Hospital Kampala.
According to reports, Ssegirinya had multiple organ failures and was first pronounced dead earlier in the morning, reports which doctors dismissed saying his heart was still beating until in the afternoon when they announced him dead. May Their Souls Rest in Peace!
