The Uganda Peoples Defencr Force (UPDF) has said that suspects who were arrested at National Unity Platform (NUP) party Headquarters in Kamwokya will face the army court.
Brig Flavia Nalweyiso, the army spokesperson says they will have a case conference with police and decide those who will face the court martial and those to be charged in criminal courts.
On Wednesday, Police and the army raided different parts of the city including the NUP offices and atleast 132 suspects were arrested and are facing charges of illegal possession of government stores.
According to updf, these were found with materials ordinarily meant for the forces like red Barretts, engraved military stones etcetera.
In similar news, dozens of people including traders who were arrested during Wednesday’s raid in Kampala and Kamwokya for wearing, selling and manufacturing red berets, red T.shirts and posters have been arraigned before Buganda road court which remanded them to Kitalya government prison until October 23.
Parrotsug learnt that NUP lawyer Anthony Muweli was by publication time working tooth and nail to ensure his clients apply for a bail.
