The Uganda Police through its deputy police spokesperson for Kampala metro politan Luke owoyesigyire, has confirmed the death of a one year old baby girl (Bulisala promise) in kajjansi by alleged poisoning.
According to the police,the incident occurred during the night of 10.4.2026 in katwe cell, Nakawuka parish, Kajjansi town council in wakiso district.
“Its alleged that,for the last two days,the complainant had been leaving her child with the suspect who is her nephew to go for night duty”. the police statement reads in part.
While investigations continue as confirmed by the police, a case of murder by poisoning has been opened up after the suspect confessed to have administered over dose medicine for the baby to sleep because of the kid disturbing him which didn’t work but the baby ended up dying instead.
According to the uganda police annual crime report of 2025,111 cases of Murder by poisoning were reported indicating a 5%age change from 2024 where 106 cases were reported.
