The uganda police through its spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke have confirmed that three people have been arrested in wakiso for allegedly stealing an amplifier and a mixer on the night of April 11, 2026 from Kavumba SDA Church in wakiso town council,Wakiso district.
“Police in Wakiso are investigating a break-in at Kavumba SDA Church, located in Wakiso Town Council, Wakiso District, where unknown thugs stole a music amplifier and mixer on the night of April 11, 2026”.reads the police statement.
According to the police statement,its officers swung into action and successfully recovered the stolen items from a nearby house, along with additional property that had earlier been stolen from a mosque.
The Police have confirmed that three suspects including Ssekitooleko Ronald, Wabwire and Robert have since been arrested and are currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
Due to the increasing criminals targeting both churches and mosques,the police have urged leaders of places of worship to remain vigilant and deploy proactive security measures including deploying guards, Improving lighting around premises and Installing CCTV surveillance systems.”Police urge leaders of places of worship to strengthen security measures by deploying guards, Improving lighting around premises and Installing CCTV surveillance systems”. According to the uganda police annual crime report of 2025 11,818 cases of breaking were reported in 2025 compared to 13,511 that were reported in 2024.
