Businesses on all roads leading to Rubaga cathedral have come to a standstill due to congested traffic diversions to allow Archbishop Lwanga a decent burial.
Public vehicle routes have been temporarily diverted to ease on the transportation of officials to attend the Archbishop’s burial ceremony.
Yesterday,the Ag Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said there will be traffic diversions on several roads and junctions leading to Rubaga Cathedral.
Traffic at Nabunya junction, Kabuusu roundabout and Rubaga hospital at Mutesa road have been diverted whereas Rubaga road leading to the cathedral is restricted from motorists.
Only Motorists with stickers access the cathedral rom Kabuusu roundabout via Stensera road road and Mugwanya road via Mutesa road respectively.
No boda bodas is allowed beyond traffic cut off points.
Archbishop Lwanga,68 was on Saturday morning found dead in his room and the postmortem done by Mulago national referral hospital indicates that he died of a heart attack caused by a blood clot.
All preparation for the burial of the Archbishop are ready and he be buried inside Rubaga Cathedral.
