A total of 36 revellers were last night arrested in past curfew hours when police engulfed Levels Lounge and Restaurant in Kamwokya a Kampala suburb.
The suspects include 14 women and 22 men. They were arrested in an operation to enforce curfew guidelines on combating the spread of COVID.
“The Territorial police at Kampala Metropolitan has conducted an operation and a total of 36 revellers have been arrested from Levels Lounge located in Kamwokya.” KMP reported.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspects were arrested on allegations of doing a negligent acts likely to spread an infectious disease – COVID-19.
He said they are waiting for a fine structure from the ministry of finance thereafter the suspects will be arraigned to court.
Owoyesigyire further disclosed that the suspects are currently being detained at Kira road police station.
On last Sunday, President Museveni directed that anyone found breaching COVID-19 curfew guidelines should be arrested and fined with cash payable to bank without detention.
However, the ministry of finance has not come out with clear fines and bank details to use as per President Museveni directives.
