The government through ministry of health Uganda has today launched the distribution of treated government mosquito nets to market benders who will spend their nights camping at the markets during these remaining days of the 42 days of lockdown.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Dr. Diana Atwiine said the campaign is intended to protect traders from contracting malaria.
The distribution exercise follow president Museveni directives on COVID-19 lockdown where he asked market vendors in food markets to camp at their workplaces to avoid the spread of the deadly corona virus.
During the launch, Quality Chemicals Uganda led by their Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel Katongole donated 2,000 mosquito nets to support the ministry in tbe exercise.

According to the spokesperson ministry of health, Emmanuel Ainebyoona, ministry hopes to distribute 10,000 treated mosquito nets in over 60 food markets across the country.
