As the country still mourns the pass on of Gen Pecos Kutesa who died on Tuesday in Germany, days after his retirement from the force, security has been struck by another blacksmith news of the death of Maj Gen Paul Lokech, the deputy Inspector General of Police.
The Lion of Mogadishu, as famously referred to passed on earlier today at his home, IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has confirmed.
“The IGP with deep sorrow regrets to announce the sudden demise of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Major General Paul Lokech. He passed on from his home this morning.”
The IGP did not indulge into details of the cause of his deputy’s death, but, reports indicate that Maj Gen Lokech succumbed to blood clotting and that he has been battling illnesses at his home for almost a month.
Police says details of his death and funeral arrangements will be issued at a later time.
“A detailed statement on the cause of death and burial arrangements will be availed in due course.”
In related stories, the body of fallen Gen Pecos Kutesa earlier this morning arrived at Entebbe Airport amid grief and sorrows.
Gen Kutesa body was received by his family and taken to his home in Buziga for a requim service.
