Police operatives in Kabale district led by area RDC Darius Nandinda and DPC BrianAmpaire have arrested over 18 commercial sex workers with their clients in lodges.
A curfew operation to enforce the presidential directives on corona virus was aiming at arresting those who breach the laws gathering in restricted areas such as lodges, bars, hotels among others.
According to the authorities, sex workers were found with bottles of beer and other local brews in lodges where they were detected.
These were later on arrested and detained waiting for court.
Similarly, Mr Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi, RDC Mbarara district together with other security authorities made an operative today in Mbarara town where they locked various shops that were found operating without trading licences and those with businesses which were not listed among those that the President allowed to reopen.
President Museveni on Monday 4th May, waived a relief on certain essential businesses to operate while leaving others still locked down. Wholesalers, Metal and Wood workshops, Repair workshops & Garages, Construction sites, Factories are the businesses whose ban was lifted.
Others includes; Insurance providers, Lawyers, Agricultural shops, food markets and Hardware shops.
However, according to the authorities the presidential message was misinterpreted by most traders who have since then opened up their businesses.
RDC Kateera said security will not close an eye for anyone trying to illegally operate in this corona virus pandemic as one of the ways to combat its spread.
