Police in Kanungu are hunting for a bar owner after body of a customer was discovered in her kitchen.
The bar owner in Nyamirama Kanungu has been identified as Peace Bakuzi.
Preliminary reports revealed that on February 20, the deceased left Bakuzi’s bar at around 2100hrs and her body was later discovered in the kitchen the next day.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Rosette Asiimwe, 24, a resident of Mashoko cell, Rushaka parish, Nyamitanga sub-county in Kanungu
Police visiting the scene of the crime and body was conveyed to Kihihi health center IV for postmortem.
Three suspects who were in a company of the deceased in a bar were arrested to aid police in investigation. They are Ssengiyunva Budidii 25, Via Kundizana 27 and, Tukaweza Kabata 30, all residents of the Mashoko cell, in Nyamirama Kanungu.
Maate said inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of this murder and arrest Bakuzi.
“Efforts to get the owner of the bar arrested are being made since was at large at the time of arresting others,” said ASP Elly Maate
