The Forum for Democratic Change has congratulated Rt. Hon. William Ruto upon his election as president of the Republic of Kenya.
In a press statement, the party extended its heartfelt congratulations to the president elect and his of the Republic of Kenya and hailed the Kenyan people for exhibiting maturity and patience in upholding the principles of multiparty democracy.
In the same line, it urged African citizens to continue pursuing the struggle for a peaceful political transition.
This comes after the Supreme Court dismissed opposition Raila Odinga’s election petition maintaining the victory of William Ruto.
In related news, the National Unity Platform president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has commended Kenya for holding a peaceful, free and fair election.
“Throughout the campaigns, the election and the Election Petition, Kenya has proven that its democracy has come of age. The Region has many lessons to learn. I congratulate the great people of Kenya,” Bobi said
He further hailed Odinga for ensuring peace and democracy of all Kenyans even after supreme court ruling.
“I also congratulate Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga and thank him for his undisputable role in advancing democratic governance, not only in Kenya but in the entire region. On behalf of @NUP_Ug, we wish the President-Elect and all the people of Kenya the very best on the journey ahead.”
