Bishop Stuart University – BSU Guild Elections have been cancelled amidst heavy security.The voting process that was going on today 12th May,2018 at the University premises in Kakooba Mbarara was turned down due to detected irregularities.

Students identified some already ticked ballot papers and other ballots that were found without consecutive serial numbers.

According to Ashaba Apton a first year student and THE PARROTS reporter at BSU, students accuse the incumbent Guild Council,New Electoral Commission body of being behind the irregularities and practicing favouritism in favour on aone coontestant H.E Annitah Naturinda from College of Education on expense of her rivals.

Electoral Process before Protest

Three candidates are running for this fatty position and these include: H.E Annitah Naturinda, H.E Chrispus Ayesigye and H.E Dickens Owembabazi.
Angry students protested the irregularities grabbed and dismantled ballot papers until police intervened to stop the riots.

Another voting date shall be communicated as investigations into the matter are on going.
