KAMPALA
Police in Kampala have arrested popular comedian, Obeid Lubega also known as Reign over alleged involvement in the ongoing Anti-Corruption Protests in Kampa City.
Reign was arrested from his residential home in Mutundwe, Rubaga division Kampala earlier today.

The comedian is a close ally to opposition politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP). He is speculated to run for Rubaga South county Member of Parliament and unseat Hon. Aloysius Mukasa in the 2026 elections.
His arrest follow last night’s “provoking” post on their official X page, formerly Twitter which lured Ugandans to join the Anti-Corruption Protests dubbed #March2Parliament.
“We shall not be intimidated,ts our fundamental right to fight against any sort of injustice,corruption etc,so just get ready fr us kuba tujja”, read a post on Maulana and Reign X platform.

Today, a group of disgruntled youth stormed Kampala streets with seven demands against stinking corruption in the 11th parliament. They are demanding the immediate resignation of Speaker Anitah Annette Among, resizing of parliament, resignation of the commissioners of parliament and MPs implicated in corruption scandals among others.
Heavy security has been deployed across the city streets and all routes that connects to city centre Kampala and several arrests have been reported.
Police is yet to comment on the arrest of comedian Reign and other Anti-Corruption Protestors, and Activists.
Further reports indicate that Human Rights Lawyer, Eriah Nuwenuwe has also been arrested near parliament during the anti-graft protests.
