The familiar heartbreak continues for Arsenal fans as the club closes another season without a major trophy. Hopes were high at the start of the campaign, with manager Mikel Arteta assembling a promising squad that showed glimpses of brilliance. However, when it mattered most, the Gunners faltered, leaving supporters wondering when their team will finally return to glory.

Arsenal started the season with vigor, challenging for the Premier League title and making deep runs in domestic and European competitions. Their attacking football thrilled fans, and at times, they seemed poised to break their long-standing trophy drought. Unfortunately, familiar weaknesses, lack of squad depth, inconsistency, and key injuries proved costly as the season wore on.

For much of the season, Arsenal were among the frontrunners in the Premier League. A string of impressive performances saw them sitting comfortably near the top. Yet, as the pressure intensified, so did their struggles. Dropped points in crucial fixtures and disappointing results against rivals derailed their ambitions, leaving them to watch as another team lifted the coveted trophy.

Arsenal’s cup campaigns also ended in frustration. Knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup earlier than expected, they failed to establish themselves as true contenders. Their European journey showed promise, but ultimately ended in heartbreak, preventing them from adding silverware to their cabinet.

What’s Next for Arsenal?

With yet another trophyless season in the books, Arteta faces tough questions about the team’s future. The club’s ambitious project needs fine-tuning, with key signings and tactical adjustments required to ensure they can finally break their cycle of near misses. The summer transfer window will be crucial as Arsenal look to strengthen their squad for the battles ahead.

Arsenal was beaten hands down by PSG home and away in UEFA Champions League with a 3:1 aggregate and still second on the premier League table  with 67 points below Liverpool FC with 82 points expected to be the guard of honour as Liverpool takes the English Premier League trophy on 11th May, 2025.

Despite the disappointment, Arsenal fans remain hopeful that next season will bring success. The club has shown signs of progress, but the ultimate goal remains the same to lift a trophy and cement their place among the elite once again.
