A family in Abayita Ababiri – Entebbe, Wakiso district has reportedly rejected a body of their grandchild following alleged misunderstanding between the father in-law and the child’s mother.
Grace Mutesi, 26, a mother to the deceased was reportedly chased away from her marital family by her father in-law a few months ago and when her son, Male Shakul, 3 , passed away on Wednesday she decided to transport the body to the ancestral family for burial arrangements.
She was however dismayed when her father in-law rejected to bury the child on his graveyard prompting her to take the body and dumped it to the area chairperson’s home yard.
Abbey Ssebowa, the Abayita Ababbiri LC1 chairman said after dumping the body, Mutesi took on her heels and attempts to find her remains futile.
An emergency village meeting was called and residents contributed money towards organizing the funeral as the chairman and other locals moved to plead with the father in-law to allow the child get buried on his graveyard.
