Forum for Democratic Change (fdc) is laying grounds for the 2021 General Elections despite the prevailing economic & political challenges caused by the novel corona virus pandemic.
Speaking to the press in an online press briefing today’s noon, party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, outlined party’s preparation into the forth coming presidential election in 2021
He said that 2021 General Elections is in high gear, despite disruptions of some of their activities caused by COVID 19 that has caused loss of time.
He further expressed that his party has rolled out a program intended to set up a robust campaign platform ready before the official commencement of campaigns.
In an endorsed document, the party revelead some political activities which the party is preparing to do amidst the pandemic. These includes:
- Candidates identification which is on track.
- 2021 Party Manifesto development with a Manifesto Committee set up and ready to commence preparatory work on their tasks in two weeks time.
- Party structure formation in new administrative areas
- Online regional consultations
- Scientific campaigns at village level.
FDC called for peaceful transition of power to a new administration should COVID-19 continue havoc halting meaningful elections.
“Should the pandemic continue to cause havoc and not allow meaningful elections to taking place before March 2020, the FDC calls for a transition from Mr. Museveni to a new administration.” Read excerpts of the statement.
They further outlined factors to be considered in ensuring transition to a new administration.

Rebuilding of our institutions that have been overrun by the regime
Rewriting of our constitution that has been adulterated beyond recognition and;
Organising and holding a free, fair and credible elections.
In the same document FDC urged that the government should give accountability for the money that was recently given to the government by International Monetary Fund IMF.
