According to our reporter at the scene, the landing site main market, (Nakiwogo Central Market) is also flooded and traders are seen operating from outside the market.

By Publishing time, nobody had been confirmed dead. Our reporter Daniel Rwot is still compiling facts and more details follow.

Since March, floods are no longer a hearsay in areas on the shores of Lake Victoria as the waters volumes have increased leaving properties destroyed. Nakiwogo landing site has been in news for heavy floods since almost 50 metres of its land was submerged to the lake.

A few weeks ago, a mosque on the lake shores of Bugonga was destroyed.

President Museveni earlier warnedthat government was not to close an eye to anybody enchriaching on the shores of lakes by cultivating or constructing houses.

He argues that the increased volume of waters are as a result of people who destroy the environment.

Other properties that have been recently affected by the flooding L.Victoria include the Entebbe Road at Kitubulu which was cut off, Tycoon Hamis Kiggundu aka Ham Mansion and City Pastor Kayanja’s house both in Entebbe.
