Former Rakai district LC5 Emmanuel Kamunana has committed suicide after allegedly shooting himself.
According to Lyantonde police,the incident happened on May 7 at around 5am ay his home in Nsiika,Buyanga parish,mpumudde sub county in Lyantonde district.
Mr Muhammad Nsubuga the southern regional spokesperson confirmed the death of Kamunana and claimed that a pistol gun was recovered from the crime scene where he was found lying in a pool of blood.
Police said they managed to rush Kamunana to Lyantonde General hospital but was already dead when they arrived to the hospital.
Nsubuga said that Mr Kamunana had a long illnese which might have sparked off depression hence committing suicide.
“The wife told our detectives that Mr Kamunana had a long illness which could have led to depression he woke up at 5am and went to the sitting room where he shot himself ” he added.
