The Catholic community has come together to mourn the loss of Fr. Paolino Tomaino, a beloved priest known for his dedication to serving others. The program for his burial has been announced, with various ceremonies planned to honor his life and ministry.
The schedule begins with the body leaving Rome Airport on Saturday, 9th March 2024, and arriving at Entebbe on Sunday, 10th March 2024. A Vigil mass will be held at Mbuya Catholic Church later that evening, followed by a Requiem mass the next day, animated by AMDA.
After the services in Entebbe, the body will leave for Rushere where another Requiem Mass and Vigil will take place on Monday, 11th March 2024. The following day, the body will travel to Kambuga for a Requiem mass at Bishop Comboni College and a Vigil at Kambuga Catholic Church.
On Wednesday, 13th March 2024, the body will leave for Kyamuhunga, where a Vigil Mass will be held that evening. The final ceremonies will take place on Thursday, 14th March 2024, with a Requiem Mass and burial at Kyamuhunga Catholic Church where he asked to be buried when he was still alive.
Fr. Paulino Tomaino touched the lives of many with his kindness and faith, and his passing is deeply felt within the community. The program for his burial reflects the love and respect he inspired in others, as friends, family, and parishioners come together to remember a man who dedicated his life to serving others.
Fr. Paolino Tomaino died early this week aged in Italy at the age of 87. The Italian-born priest of the congregation of the Comboni Missionaries is hailed for transforming education, health and the Catholic faith during his many years of service in Mbarara Archdiocese.
