The government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing budget allocations for gender-responsive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services, ensuring that no one particularly women and girls who are most affected by the lack of such services is left behind as this move aligns with the goals outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals and the NRM manifesto.
Speaking at the launch of the WASH campaign at Sheraton Hotel, Vice President Jesca Alupo highlighted the government’s determination to address inequalities, particularly those affecting women and girls.

Alupo emphasized that these efforts are part of the government’s broader socio-economic transformation agenda, which prioritizes investments in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
She also reiterated the government’s renewed focus on expanding WASH infrastructure, expressing optimism that more villages, schools, and healthcare facilities will soon have access to safe water and sanitation.
WASH is Everyone’s Business Campaign’ was launched under the theme ‘WASH Away Inequality: Access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene for Every Woman and Girl’ at Sheraton Hotel Kampala on Tuesday.
