MBARARA
Holy innocents children’s hospital staff faced off the Kanungu Health worker’s FC in a tight friendly match on Saturday 8th 2023 at St Joseph’s vocational secondary school play ground in Nyamitanga, Mbarara City.
The two teams decided to have a friendly match as they all prepare for their home leagues, Kanungu cooperate league and Mbarara City cooperate league.
The match that started at 1600hrs in the evening ended 2:1 in favour of the hosts, Holy Innocents Children’s hospital. The two goals for Holy innocents children’s hospital were scored by Richard in the first half and Abonga Emmanuel while the only goal for Kanungu Health worker’s FC was scored by Cucurera from Bwindi community hospital.
“Holy innocents children’s hospital is one of the best teams in Mbarara city cooperate league which has been persistent so we thought visiting them for a friendly match would help create friendship and learn from them as a newly established team,” said Agaba from Kanungu Health workers fc.
“We really intend to learn from them in all aspects because they’ve been participating for some good years,” he added.
Agaba also said that the other reason for organising a friendly match with is Holy innocents children’s hospital is to interact with health workers and learn from them and take the same skills that may benefit the people of Kanungu since they are all health workers. He noted that they had a hospital tour and appreciated the neatness and good flow of work at Holy innocents.
Gumisiriza Bannet, the Holy Innocents team captain thanked the Kanungu Health worker’s FC for considering them for a friendly match.
“There is too much in common between these teams,so we have a lot to share in regards to health and sports ,so we really have a lot to benefit from this friendly match,” he said.
