Today Sunday, 9th of July, 2023, the newly promoted Police officers gathered at St Peter’s Church of Uganda, Naguru Diocese in Kampala to express their gratitude to God for their recent advancements in ranks.
The event was graced by Commissioner of Police (CP) Hilary Kulayige, the Deputy Chief Political Commissar, who represented the Inspector General of Police, IGP JM Okoth Ochola.
Kulayige expressed his pleasure in witnessing police officers who acknowledge the presence of God in their lives and emphasized that if police officers embrace faith, various issues affecting the force would significantly diminish.
“With God, comes discipline, eradication of corrupt tendencies, suicide, murder, and other societal vices” CP Kulayige told the faithful Cops.
The commissar also encouraged the police officers to adopt the spirit of thanksgiving as a cultural practice and acknowledgment of God’s role in their achievements.
He challenged them to examine their commitment to tithing, a biblical principle often neglected. “Let us cease to cheat God let’s appreciate what is given to us and give back faithfully.”
Reverend Philip Kivumbi, the Vicar General, expressed the church’s deep appreciation for the services rendered by the Uganda Police Force. He credited the officers for joining this special Thanksgiving Sunday and extended blessings to them.
Reverend Corporal (CPL) Jackson Bwambale who was the guest preacher preached the importance of expressing gratitude in every aspect of life.
He encouraged the officers to prioritize their faith, both before and after work.
