BUSHENYI: The endless rifts at the Bushenyi district baded tea producers, Igara Growers Tea Factory suspends, have resurrected again after the company’s board reached a decision to suspend six of their employees over massive corruption and embezzlement of in specified amount of money.
According to a notice issued on August 3, the board suspended; Finance Manager, Brand Unit manager, Factory manager, Production manager, General Manager, and Factory engineer.
Reports indicates that the six in conjuction with others engaged in syndicate corruption that resulted into loss of millions of money.
The syndicate corruption includes, fictious procurements, over pricing, illegal allowances, embezzlement of raedy made tea making among others.
Preliminary investigations indicate that up to 2bn shillings could have been lost in this syndicate corruption.
A reports authored by the internal Auditor Robert Mugabe, a number of fictious procurements were discovered involving millions of money.
The matter was brought to the attention of the board which has now taken action
When contacted for a comment, Adrine Kobusingye, the Chairperson Board of Directors, told Parrots UG that the board has commenced on investigations threatening that those involved in the acts will be dealth with accordingly.
