The opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, has declared that he will not be intimidated by threats of violence from the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and First Son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as he continues to speak the truth.

In a recent post on X, Gen. Muhoozi stated that the only person protecting Kyagulanyi from him is his father, President Museveni, and that he would “cut off the head of Bobi Wine today” if not for this protection.

Addressing the press at NUP headquarters in Makerere Kavule, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu asserted that no one can stop him from telling Ugandans the truth, as they need this information to change the government and achieve freedom.

Kyagulanyi also condemned the CDF for his warning to all District Police Commanders (DPC) to arrest and detain anyone speaking against the government.

In the same press conference, Kyagulanyi criticized President Museveni’s directive to the police to stop issuing police bonds. He also lashed out at the government for failing to combat corruption, instead arresting and condemning those who speak out against it.

Kyagulanyi emphasized that corruption has hindered service delivery in the country. He urged the youth to register and fully participate in the upcoming general elections at all levels, stating that the key to bringing change and peace to the country’s leadership lies in young people taking part in electoral processes.

He further encouraged the youth not to fear vying for and competing for any position if they see their peers being corrupt. Kyagulanyi also condemned the government’s failure to adequately fund the education system, which he believes cannot meet its needs to provide quality education.
