A coffee farmer in Sheema district southwest Uganda is living in a state of fears after unknown people set ablaze his coffee plantations days after his eight cows were stolen
Andrew Ndikora Rwanyanga aka Andy, 33, a businessman in Kabwohe town and resident of Katwe village in Kyabandaara ward Sheema central division, Sheema municipality in Sheema district was on Thursday night left in shocks after unknown persons set on fire his coffee plantations.
The incident happened four days after thieves stole his eight cows from the farm in same village.
It is alleged that on Thursday night at aroun 3am Rwanyanga heard alarms that there is a fire in his coffee farm which he had just mulched and put an irrigation scheme.
The fire started in the middle of the coffee plantation from the dry mulches spreading to other parts of the farm.
Moses Bishweeko, the mayor of Sheema central division condemned the act and told reports that they are going to investigate the matter and ensure that the culprits are arrested and brought to book
A case of Arson and malicious damage has been reported at Sheema central police station and investigations are ongoing.
