POLICE CALL FOR ACTION
Police urges Inter-religious Council of Uganda (IRC) to set up regulations on all places of worship in the country.
“We call upon the Inter-Religious Council and all other Faith-based Associations, to come up with stronger measures of profiling and auditing the activities of all places of worship. We believe this initiative will help guard against such rogue self -styled Prophets, who take advantage of people’s lives, in the search for miracles and divine healing powers.” Police said.
The police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga has commended the task team of investigators for their efforts, that led to the arrest of the suspects.
He pledged to continue monitoring the progress of the case in the courts of law, to ensure justice for Nakisuyi and her family.
Police says that despite the efforts made in the fight against Child Sacrifice, this tragic incident clearly shows that the threats are still in existence.
Parents and guardians have been advised to keep an eagles eye on their children because they are vulnerable to ritualistic sacrifices if not watched after closely.
