The Awards are an annual ceremony through which excellence in financial reporting is recognized and rewarded. Organisations in the private, public and non-profit sectors participate by submission of their annual reports for the year under review.

The Financial Reporting (FiRe Awards) Committee has recognized NWSC for her achievement in financial reporting under the Public Sector Category.

Deputy Speaker of parliament Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa at the FiRe awarding ceremony for best financial excellence public and private sectors.

The awarding ceremony was held at Serena Hotel, Kampala on November 1. This was organized by the Uganda Insurers Association (UIA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA Uganda) and Vision Group among others.

The FiRe Awards Committee recommended a Certificate of Recognition for achievement in financial reporting under the Public Sector Category for National Water and Sewerage Corporation😊

The Awards are an annual ceremony through which excellence in financial reporting is recognized and rewarded. Organisations in the private, public and non-profit sectors participate by submission of their annual reports for the year under review.

FiRe best financial excellence awarding ceremony for public and private sectors. NWSC awarded best financial reporter.

The best performers are rewarded based on their level of compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Several other corporate bodies including presenting FiRe awards and certificates to the following entities: Steadfin Uganda, Exodus Sacco, CPA Sacco, UMEME staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, and Scripture Union of Uganda also received certificates in their outstanding categories. The certificates were presented to winners by Paul Bwiso, the Chief Executive Director of Uganda Securities Exchange.

About FiRe Awards

Introduced in 2011, the FiRe Awards are organized and held annually by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).

The FiRe Awards play a pivotal role role in enhancing the quality of Financial reporting.

The Awards are instrumental in encouraging the implementation of Financial Reporting Standards and fostering the adoption of best practices in Financial reporting.
