Every year in November, Uganda joins the rest of the world to remember the world day for the Prevention and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence and this year’s day was marked in Makidye Division , Namuwongo Parish at Kasanvu Community spearheaded by the Mutera Global Healing, an NGO based in Uganda fighting to end Child abuse and Sexual Exploitation and Violence.
A one day event held at Kasanvu Community hall started with a health camp where members of the community got free treatment and testing on many diseases. These included safe Male circumcision , HIV/AIDS testing and Counselling, Family planing among other
Speaking to the Media, Ingabire Irene Kagorora, the program Manager of Mutera Global Healing said that this is the second time when they are doing this with a plan of at least getting or reaching to each part of the country to teach, preach and also sensitize people on the child abuse and Violence. She added that many people mostly Young girls fear to speak up when they get sexual abuse due to the fear of harsh and hard parents thus end up doing this vulnerably
During this event, over 500 people benefited in the health camp and those who were found with the virus were put on medication for a proper health
