The hard talking media practitioner Charles James Senkubuge has shook the political walls of Kampala city after he revealed interests to run for city’s top seat in the 2021 election.

Senkubuge famously known as Siasa expressed his interests on Monday in the ewe morning hours on his social media platform.

The highly gifted Senkubuge said his special call is to clean up the mess and make Kampalans wear a smile.

“My special call to Kampala city has always been to make you people smile trying to make you forget the suffering around us while educating you and arming you the best future,” he said.

The former presidential candidate is optimistic that Kampala needs a new face with new ideas to improve livelihoods.

“In a same way of changing lives for the best, I’m offering myself for Lord Mayorship as my final attempt to bring you real happiness and joy which I hope to attain by cleaning the mess around us.” Read excerpts of the statement.

He pledges to create a self sustaining and well physically planned city which will accommodate all persons.

“…where all plans will be devised to make possible for all to work in the city without being chased like criminals,” pledges sympathetic Senkubuge. He added; “this is our city let’s enjoy it.”

Senkubuge is fronted by Uganda’s oldest Democratic Party – DP and is to be nominated today at Ntinda Electoral Commission offices at 2PM.

DP says he is a different brand that cannot be defeated by anyone.

Electoral Commission has postponed the deadline for the nomination of candidates interested in the city Lord Mayor seat and other Local Government positions giving him (Senkubuge) a room to make this right decision.

Other people who have so far been nominated for this position include Incumbent Erias Lukwago (fdc), Hon. Nabilah Nagayi Ssempala (NUP), and Daniel Kazibwe aka Singer Ragga Dee (NRM).

Who is Senkubuge?

Charles James Senkubuge alias Siasa is a media practitioner, Actor, Pastor and seasoned politician.

He is the current General Manager at city’s most listened to Pr Bujingo’s Salt media, Chairman Bakayimbira Drama actors, Lead Pastor FRC, Pastor at Gospel Light Church in Kitalanga Kansanga, Award winner of the Uganda at 50 in the field of art, Director Bakayimbira School of Performing Arts.

He is the unsung former presidential candidate in the 2001 presidential elections at the age of 38yrs but later withdrew from the race in a period of one month citing out insecurity on his personal life. This attempt however, paved way for his political career.

Senkubuge has worked on various broadcasting media presenting educating, entertainment and human interests shows such as Simba FM’s Bisangawano morning show, Byansi on Bukedde TV to mention but a few.

He has also acted in several films which have crowned him different petnames like Uncle Saulo in Ndiwulira, the Sargent Mpiima, Bulagayi among others and he us the hard talking voice behind Salt TV’s morning show: “Omunyo Ku Makya.”

Senkubuge is a book author of “Dala Ku Dala”  – Linya edala Ofuke w’ e Ddala launched in 2018 and is a playwright of over 50 plays.
