The State House of the republic of Uganda has dismissed as falsehoods news circulating on social media alleging that President Museveni was airlifted to German in critical conditions and he is dead.
The clarity follow a fake Twitter post purported to NTV Uganda announcing death of the fount of honour
“The President bof Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has reportedly been airlifted to Germany in critical condition after suffering from breathing complications, purportedly due to Covid19, according to his private doctor Dr Monica Musenero,” read the fake social media post.
When this reporter contacted the president’s personal doctor, Dr Monica Musenero, he shredded anti- Museveni groups who had started celebrating, and spreading the post.
Dr Musenero dismissed the news clarifying that the President is a live and kicking.
NTV which is still battling with a case of a fan who shared clips of himself masturbating in a live zoom on TV also dismissed the tweet.
“FAKE NEWS ALERT: Please, disregard this fake news post being shared and attributed to NTV Uganda and treat it with the contempt it deserves,” NTV clarified in a tweet before adding;
“NTV Uganda has not shared any such information on any of its platforms. Beware of those using social media to spread Fake News.”
This reporter learned that president Museveni is due to preside over a virtual World Health Summit scheduled to take place today at Munyonyo.
