S1 student commits suicide in Mubende

A senior one student at Kasenyi SS in Mubende district has committed suicide by hanging, police reported.

“Territorial police in mubende have registered a case of suicide by hanging of Ssekizivu Julius, male juvenile of about 15 years of age ,a student in senior one(S.1)at kasenyi secondary school, Mubende,” ASP Asp Racheal Kawala, PRO Wamala region told Parrots UG.

Kawala identified the deceased as a son of Byaruhanga Paul, a resident of kijumba lc1,kiyuni sub county Mubende district.

According to Kawala, the incident occured on 3rd November, 2022 at about 6pm in kasenyi caltex lc1 mubende district .

It is alleged that the deceased was staying with his maternal uncle Ssenyonga Lawrence, a resident of kasenyi caltex Lc1.

“Preliminary findings indicate that on November 3, the deceased went and approached a one Payasi and asked him where the goats were tied and that he was in need of the rope,” Kawala added

She explained that the deceased shortly disappeared and moments later his body was found dangling on a mango tree located on church land.

Police were informed and responded to the scene which they documented and recorded relevant statements.

Police further observed that the deceased by the time of committing suicide, the deceased was wearing his School uniform and his sandles were found under the mango tree.

Investigations are on to establish the cause of the suicide .

Police conveyed body of the deceased to Mubende hospital pending postmoterm.

“We urge parents,guardians to always keep an eye on teens that are depressed and to always keep lines of communication open with their children.” ASP Kawala urged

Inquiries are still on to establish the cause of this incident.
