The traffic police has confirmed that three people lost lives and several others sustained injuries on New Year’s day accident in Mabira forest along Jinja-Kampala Highway.
According to the Traffic Police mouthpiece ASP Faridah Nampiima, the fatal accident that occured at Najjemba trading centre involved two vehicles; a Toyota Corona Premio registration number UAL 958Q and a Man trailer Motor vehicle registration number UAZ 558P/UAL 793X.
Threr people including a 4-year-old juvenile were killed in the accident while six others were critically injured.
“Our police at Najjembe near Najjembe Trading Centre – Mabira along Jinja- Kampala Highway in Buikwe district yesterday 01.01.2022, registered a fatal accident that claimed lives of 3 people including a juvenile, and injured other 6 seriously,” Nampiima said.
She identified the deceased as Kalema Yunus male adult, 31 years,the driver of UAL 958Q premio, Lutwama Rajab, 48 yrs,passenger in the same vehicle,both residents of Walusubi Mukono District- Passenger and Unidentified female juvenile aged 4 yrs.
