The first victim, identified as Arinaitwe Simple, was found dead along a road in the village of Ibumbwe. Reports indicate that he was last seen at a local bar with three other individuals, including a teacher named Godfrey Kamugisha. It is suspected that Arinaitwe, who was known to have money from his cattle business and money lending activities, may have been targeted for robbery.

Following Arinaitwe’s death, an angry mob took matters into their own hands and lynched Godfrey Kamugisha, who was suspected of involvement in the murder. Another individual, Innocent Tayebwa, was rescued by police in critical condition but tragically passed away shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Police has issued a statement urging the community to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and instead cooperate with authorities to apprehend suspects. One suspect has been taken into custody to assist in the ongoing investigation.

The motive behind the brutal murders remains unclear, but the police are working tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to the tragic deaths. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance and cooperation within the community to ensure the safety and security of all residents.

As the investigation continues, residents of Kihiihi are left grappling with grief and uncertainty, seeking answers to a senseless act of violence that has shaken their community.
