The Uganda People’s Defence Forces have changed some of the nomenclatures of some of the offices at the UPDF Headquarters following the launch of UPDF establishment 2021 by President Museveni on February 17, 2021.
The changed nomecultures include; Chief of joint staff(CJS) formerly Joint Chief Staff(JCOS),Joint Staff Human Resource Management (JS-HRM) formerly Chief Of Personnel And Administration (CPA),Defence Intelligence Security (DIS) formerly Chief Of Military Intelligence (CMI),Joint Staff Logistics (JS-LOG) formerly Chief Of Logistics And Engineering (CLE),Defence Intelligence And Security (DIS) formerly Chief Of Military Intelligence (CMI),Joint Staff Training And Recruitment (CTR),Defence Public Information Officer (DPIO) formerly Defence Spokesperson (DSP) under the Department Of Defence Public Information (DDPIO).
Brigadier General Felix M Kulayigye, the Defence Public Information Officer stresses that alteration of these nomecultures would effectively incept on the 05th April 2024 as per establishement by the UPDF 2021.
He further said that the naming of new officers would be explained on demand to the public and further and detailed explained with his help.
