MBARARA
In Mbarara city the update exercise and registration of new members in the national voters’ register and compilation of registers of special interest groups kicked off yesterday at the parish level.
Violet Atuhurra the returning officer Mbarara city told journalists during the open exercise that this is aimed at generating clear registers which will be used in the 2026 general elections. She also noted that they target the youths that have recently made 18 years that qualifies them as eligible voters. She revealed this yesterday 20th at Mbarara city electoral offices.
Violet urged the community to participate in this exercise because it is crucial for one to be allowed to participate in contesting and voting in the 2026 general elections
She revealed that the update exercise will last for one month, starting from 20tg up to 10th Feb 2025.
