The police in Budaka District have in their custody three men found in possesion of some property which belonged to the former member of parliament for Serere county Patric Okabe.
Hon. Okabe succumbed to an accident when a lorry truck rammed into a car inwhich he was travelling killing him instantly and his wife Christine Okabe. The accident happened at Naboa Trading Centre in Budaka district along Mbale-Tirinyi road on December19. They were later paid you rest on 24th st their home in Oburin cell,Ochapa Town council in sserere District.
Among the equipments found with the suspects are stabex fuel card, 5ATM cards belonging to different banks, parliamently identity card, two insirance cards,bussiness cards and four passport photos of the deceased.
Immaculate Also, the Bukedi North regional police spokesperson confirmed the arrests on Thursday and identified the suspects as a deputy head teacher and two boda boda riders who she said will help in more investigations.
It is alleged that a boda boda rider came along at stabex fuel station in possession of Hon. Okabe’s fuel card which raised the tension of the manager who informed police.

The suspect told the manager that he had been sent by his employer, a one Kutta and that the motorcycle was not his. The first suspect directed the police to his colleagues.
A file reference GEF 016/2022 has been opened at Budaka Central Police Station to investigate circumstances under which the suspects got the deceased belongings.
