Unidentified assailants on Sunday (July 1) killed a businessman and his house boy in Kyabugimbi, Bushenyi district, police reported.
ASP Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Regional Police Spokesperson said the incident occured in Kigombe village, Kyabugimbi subcounty, Bushenyi district on Sunday 1st July, 2023 at around 10:30Pm.
He identified the deceased as Nathan Namara, 65, a renown businessman and a resident of Kyabugimbi and his house boy, Ronald Mugabe, 14, born in Isingiro district.
It is alleged that on the fateful day, the assailants used an opportunity of a gate which the deceased wife, Deborah Namara, 63 had left open at around 7pm when she had gone to give out Tents and plastic seats for hire Tina one Turyahebwa who had a function in Ryamasa village the following day.
According to Deborah, when she returned home she found security lights off and the darkness filled the whole house. On entering, she switched on her mobile phone flashlight only to discover her husband lying lifeless in a pool of blood.
She told reports that she made an alerm which attracted the neighbours and few minutes later, they also discovered the house boy’s dead body covered in a mat inside the house.
The case of murder was reported at Kyabugimbi Police station under reference number SD 10/01/07/2023 by Muhume Rose, 45, a resident and head teacher of Nyakabanga Primary school, Kyabugimbi.
No suspect has been arrested in connections with this murder, but police have said they are working tooth and nail to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to book.
