Tegu was allegedly killed by LDUs on 28th June while from having prayers but police has since denied the allegations claiming that he was a mad boy who was killed by a mob of students who mistook him to be a thief.
Emmanuel Tegu alias Emma Tegu’s death spread like wildfires prompting many people attack the image of the Uganda police institution.
Fred Enanga, the police spokes person recently told reports that Tegu had a mental problem that forced him to go and pray at night, when a police man on patrol around st. Francis chapel sent him away, “he went on to attack askaris of a bank who alarmed for rescue causing a mob of Lumumba students to ascend on a fellow student who never held an ID,”
However, Kateregga Julius, the Man Guild President refuted claims saying that Tegu was a prayerful preacher around campus and has never been mad or caught stealing any property.
Other reports allege that Tegu told his mother on a death bed that he was lynched by LDUs not students as police alleges.
Tegu passed on and was buried on July5th.
