Opposition UPC says it is ‘on high vigilance’ and will ‘firmly guard and protect every vote cast to ensure a free and fair elections, Sharon Oyat Arach party spokesperson said on Wednesday on the eve of the the district’s woman MP by-election.

“As a Party we are committed to ensure that every vote is counted and protected, we reiterate to our voters to be vigilant and report any form of rigging. We have identified and trained our agents and observers to guard our votes at any costs,” she said
Previously, UPC president Hon. James Jimmy Akena said they are combat ready at all times to guard each vote cast and casted
’’… we have come here for serious business to win the Dokolo by-election on Thursday 21st March, 2024. I can assure you that your vote will be protected. I am not leaving Dokolo until the last vote is cast, counted and declared…. If anyone has any tricks for rigging is going to meet Akena here!…’’.

Besides the vigorous training of their polling agents, the party also opposes any attempt to intimidate, bribe voters by called on other stakeholders such as candidates, police and the military and the electoral commission.
“We demand for free, fair and peaceful elections as we all upon all members of Dokolo to raise up early tomorrow, lineup and vote for Comrade Sarah Aguti Nyangkori as the next District Woman Member of Parliament for Dokolo,” Arach said.
Across Dokolo district, electorates are warming up for tomorrow (Thursday 21 March, 2024) to elect their woman MP. Arach said they are confident that the UPC candidate, Aguti will massively win the election.
