By Our Reporter,

Buganda subjects attached to Gwanga Mujje Katonga Ajjula group have given an ultimatum of 7 days to Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga and responsible leaders in Buganda to bring back Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II in Uganda dead or live.

Yesterday Mayiga, together with Prince David Kintu Wassajja and the executive committee of the Chiefs Council, issued a joint statement providing an update on the king’s health in which they stated that the King is stable and undergoing medication in Namibia on recommendation by the doctors.

CIU scholarships offer to Senior Six students.

“It is crucial to emphasise that the king is not bedridden or seriously ill. However, he requires time under medical care to fully regain his strength,” Mayiga said.

However, while addressing journalists in Ndeeba today (June 19), Ssemusu Mugobansonga, the Chairman of Gwanga Mujje group revealed that the updates given yesterday are not convincing enough, untrue and demanded more explanation on the health conditions of Kabaka.

He disclosed plans to mobilize the King’s subjects (Baganda) to reject involving in Kingdom activities because they can’t operate when the Kabaka is under attack.

“Mengo leaders should stop fooling people because to our sources from Namibia, Kabaka is kept in the place which is not at his standards and so we need him back to Uganda to get better medications'” Mugobansonga said.

“In his last three speeches,Kabaka warned us against “Obutabongota” and is in the same vain, we are asking Baganda to stop “kubongota” and weak up to demand for the whereabouts of Kabaka” Mugobansonga urged.

“We are giving out Mayiga and entire cabinet of Buganda kingdom only 7 days to give us the answer or we demonstrate and we have already informed police about our plans so come 26th June 2024 we start our demonstration such that Kabaka get justice”

“We will all gather at Mengo together with our drums before move peacefully to Bulange Gardens while showing our dissatisfaction” he concluded

Reports by the Kingdom confirmed that the Kabaka is currently recuperating from Okonguarri Psychotherapeutic Centre, a mental health facility in Namibia, as advised by doctors.

“In recent years, the king has received medical attention from specialists both locally and internationally,” the statement revealed. “Due to health issues affecting his duties, consultations with specialists in Germany and Namibia were necessary,” the Kingdom reported.

Specialists from Germany, consulted in March, recommended a complete break from official duties for the Kabaka. The Kingdom’s Premiere said on Monday that details of the King’s return will be communicated once he has fully recovered.
